So I have a fire bellied newt and i hadn't had the time to go hunting for worms for him so he was looking rather slim, anyways I grabbed the first worm i could find (rather large one) and chopped it up and fed it to him. Apparently the worm was too big..his jaw now has an awkward swollen bump on the side and I am not sure if is it broken or not. And now i have no idea what to do with him... I dunno if he can still eat, he hasn't taken the second piece of worm i offered... so what can I do? Is this one of those things that can work themselves out? I sure hope so becuz I don't wanna take the 3 dollar newt to the 300 dollar vet.
